Let's give the 450 children and teachers clean drinking water!
Head teacher, Mr Katenekwa, says, "A borehole in the school compound would give us our own supply of clean drinking water and would be a wonderful thing for this school."
Irrigation for School Gardens
A simple drip-feed irrigation system can operate from the hand pump to irrigate an
area of 50m 2 .
One has already been installed by Zest-uk at Simatabolo. We hope to install another one at Kabuyu Basic School later this year.
A well watered garden will enable children and teachers to supplement their diet with fresh fruit and vegetables, much need for childrens' healthy growth.
