* Seed for pumpkin, okra, spinach, cabbage
* Tools - Rakes and Hoes readily available - Approx cost £5 each
All the schools would like to be able to grow some fresh fruit and vegetables. Many Zambian school children come to school on an empty stomach because there is not enough food at home, and the schools endeavour to provide their one meal of the day. Mostly their diet consists of a type of Porridge called Nshima, the staple food of Zambia. Although it fills you up, it would be very beneficial to them to have more vitamins, required for normal healthy growth.
Fruit trees cost approx £8 each.
An orchard of several trees would be a wonderful gift for one of our schools.
